10/31/06 How do I view the demo? Go to http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/UnrealEngine2Runtime22262002 and download and install the runtime. Open MyLevel_castle_grad.urt file within the unrealed.exe environment. Press the joystick graphic located on top right most section of the bar. Run around and view the enviroment. Why is it so big? Because all the models, textures and scripts are saved into the binary Unreal Tournament file. Why Unreal? 1. Good exporter out of XSI 2. Runtime available for free/education purposes. 3. Lots of commercial games use the engine. 4. Good experience 5. No Open Source tool compares to it. What is the Purpose When the interaction and the art content are complete I will release the files in an open format such as OGRE xml format. Hopefully I can get some programmers interest to design/create an Open Source tool that can be used in the same fasion. Which I have been asking for the last two and half years. To Do: I need lots of help. The basic feel and structure of Castlegrad are complete. However there are still piles of modeling and fixing to be done. If you feel that you can help email me jay[a]hourglass3d.com and I can give you something to work on.
